Abstract: During 2017, Ismins parent company (Kidston North Pty Ltd) continued to advance the merger agreement with AMD Resources Limited (previously named Alluvial Mining Limited). The initial public offering (float) of AMD has been delayed until early 2018. However, as part of their agreement, and the need for Ismins to progress exploration on the Compass Creek project, AMD provided funding for an IP/resistivity program and additional sampling and mapping in selected areas. The geophysical survey consisted of six lines totalling about 12 km of IP/resistivity survey. These were essentially in-fill lines to the wide spaced (500m) lines done in 2011. These in-fill lines provided data spacing of 250m, and thus allowed for more detailed interpretation of the IP/resistivity data. Additional mapping and rock chip sampling of breccias and veins has aided the understanding of the geology, and provided support for the proposed sites for drill holes in the 2018 field season. Most of the proposed drill sites were visited so as to assess the best access routes with the least ground disturbance. Two lines of IP/resistivity were proposed for the Waterdrum area (EL 29068) in 2017, but costly delays due to poor vehicle access, resulted in the program exceeding the budget before the Waterdrum lines could be done. We hope to complete these lines in the 2018 field season. The poor access was mainly due to the landholder refusing to allow repairs to an existing mine road (Mavis Road), and re-clearing of old blade-up tracks created in 2011.
