Abstract: EL 33388 of 6 sub-blocks is located 100 kilometres northeast of Alice Springs in the Harts Range locale. It was secured to explore for lithium, REE's and energy metals. Geology is complex high-grade Palaeoproterozoic metamorphics of the Harts Range Group and Strangways Metamorphic complex. About 20 small micaceous pegmatites occur in the area. There are no mines, deposits or drillholes within the tenement area. Mica was mined from a pegmatite at White Lady circa 90 years ago. The area has been explored in the past for base metals, precious metals, energy metals and REE's. Primary focus has been on copper-gold. Surface sampling identified highly anomalous copper in rock chips but results are not coherent. A detailed VTEM survey flown in 2007 revealed no bedrock conductor responses suggesting the anomalism from surface samples is surficial enrichment. With renewed interest in lithium and REE's, Gempart collected 67 rock chip samples from pegmatites and surrounds. Assays for lithium, REE's, energy metals and an array of conventional elements are very disappointing with no anomalous values. Isolated samples report elevated REE's only. Maximum TREE is 481 ppm. Synthesis of these results with that of previous explorers suggest there is little potential for a commercial discovery and the tenement has been surrendered.
