Title: Surrender report for EL 23864
Title Holder / Company: Troy Resources
Report id: CR2006-0035
Tenure: EL23864
Year: 2006
Author: Otterman, DW
Abstract: During the reporting period, a review of historical data, compilation of geological and aeromagnetic data, on-ground gravity surveys and a soil sampling survey was carried out. Soil samples were analysed for Au, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, As and Bi. A gravity survey was carried out in the vicinity of the old Bernborough mine in EL 23864. Regional aeromagnetic data obtained from Geoscience Australia was contoured at 20nT and 50nT and image processed. Contours at 5nT and 10nT and images were also produced for the Bernborough area. The main objective of the work carried out during the year was to generate targets for drilling in 2005 (Year 2). Gravity surveying was the principal exploration technique employed and was carried out at a survey point density of 200 metres by 200 metres with certain areas considered to be worthy of follow-up work later sampled at 50 metres by 50 metres spacing. The gravity program was carried out by Daishsat Pty Ltd of Murray Bridge, South Australia. Gravity data were acquired using Scintrex CG3M and CG5 digital gravity meters and position and level data were obtained using Leica System 1200 units, to produce precise, real time, kinematic GPS locations. Gravity data were reduced using standard reductions on the ISOGAL84 gravity network. GPS data were reduced to MGA coordinates with levels expressed as metres above the Australian Height Datum. Digital data for the gravity survey is included on the CD attendant to this report. The program detected a gravity anomaly at Bernborough considered to be sufficiently discrete to warrant drill testing. Gravity models were constructed by Southern Geoscience Consultants of Ardross, Western Australia. Field work during the year 2 was restricted to drilling 6 holes (1326 metres) into the gravity anomaly at Bernborough.
