| Title: | Exploration for gypsum on APs 1857 and 1861. |
| Title Holder / Company: | Central Pacific Minerals Magellan Petroleum |
| Report id: | CR1968-0061 |
| Tenure: | AP1857; AP1861 |
| Year: | 1968 |
| Abstract: | Gypsum deposits associated with diapiric structures crop out at Gypsum Range and Gwinn Dome. The latter was tested by bulldozing and found to be too small to justify a large-tonnage sulphur-from-gypsum and cement plant. Gypsum content of several dozen samples taken systematically along the bulldozed trenches ranged up to 72.1 per cent. The economics do not justify further work. |
