Title: Exploration for gypsum on APs 1857 and 1861.
Title Holder / Company: Central Pacific Minerals
Magellan Petroleum
Report id: CR1968-0061
Tenure: AP1857;  AP1861
Year: 1968
Abstract: Gypsum deposits associated with diapiric structures crop out at Gypsum Range and Gwinn Dome. The latter was tested by bulldozing and found to be too small to justify a large-tonnage sulphur-from-gypsum and cement plant. Gypsum content of several dozen samples taken systematically along the bulldozed trenches ranged up to 72.1 per cent. The economics do not justify further work.
