Abstract: Tanami Gold NL identified the potential for Proterozoic hosted gold mineralisation in the basement rocks of the Napperby area. The Napperby Project comprises four Exploration Licences, all granted in the period between 23 December 2002 and 4 March 2003 to Tanami Exploration NL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL, a publicly listed company. The tenements cover an area of 1,817 km2. This report describes exploration carried out on all four tenements since their grant date to 3 March 2004. The tenements of the Napperby Project lie in Central Australia approximately 200 kilometres northnortheast of Alice Springs. They are situated at the boundary of the Arunta Region and the Southern Georgina Basin and are covered by the Napperby, Mt Peake and Barrow Creek 1:250,000 Geological Sheets. Exploration consisted of a regional desk top study and field reconnaissance including rock chip and soil sampling, totalling 13 rock chip and 3 soil samples. No significant gold values were returned. As a considerable area of the project is covered by Cainozoic and younger sediments, drilling will be required to test the underlying bedrock.
