Abstract: Exploration Licence SEL 10319 (Goat Creek) was granted on the 23rd of January 2001 for a period of four years. The licence was granted to the Central Desert Joint Venture partners (Otter Gold NL 60% and Acacia Resources Ltd {now Anglogold Australia} 40%). The exploration license was subject to the Suplejack ILUA (Indigeneous Land Use Agreement) between the CDJV and the Traditional Owners. At the end of the second year of exploration it was decided to relinquish ground because of escalating tenement costs. The Licence was reduced from 500 blocks (1616 km2) to 443 blocks (1432 km2) in five separate blocks of ground. The relinquished ground included regional surface samples completed by Otter Gold NL and Stockdale which have been reported under the previous titles EL 9684 / EL 1254. Newmont NFM Exploration completed 109 regional BLEG samples in the western portion of the Licence that was relinquished during the tenure of SEL 10319. Assessment of the Exploration Licence was made by Newmont NFM staff and the decision was made to partially surrender SEL 10319 on the 22nd January 2003.
