Exploration licence 9117 annual report for the period 16th May 1997 to 15th May 1998

Abstract

77 infill heavy mineral samples were collected in areas where previous reconnaissance samples recovered kimberlitic garnet. 15 samples contained chromites of a basaltic characteristic and are attributed to the Antrim Plateau basalts. A singular garnet of kimberlitic affinity was obtained and suggests a probable secondary host rock. A singular magnetic anomaly was also sampled with negative results.
