Abstract: | EL 8212 was granted on 24-11-1993 and was cancelled on the grant of SEL 9328 on 7-12-1995. Work carried out during the first year of tenure included geological mapping, ground magnetics, soil sampling, vacuum drilling and the geochemical analysis of 437 bottom hole samples. A maximum value of 0.018 ppm Au was recorded from one sample. Work during the second year included the drilling of 60 aircore holes totalling 568 m, which targeted a Cu-Au magnetic anomaly outlined in 1994. A maximum value of 7ppb Au was obtained. This was followed up by 9 percussion RAB holes totalling 235 m. The holes intersected chloritic siltstone overlying a weathered biotite granite. |
