Title: EL 32117 Partial Relinquishment Report
Title Holder / Company: Elementzone
Report id: CR2023-0602
Tenure: EL32117
Year: 2023
Abstract: This Licence was sought to cover anomalous Rare Earth Element (REE) rock chip assays from historical exploration. The area of the EL is underlain by gently dipping quartzose and glauconitic sandstones, dolostone and intercalated limestones of the late Cambrian to Early Ordovician Tomahawk Formation within the southern Georgina Basin. The purpose of work programs during the first year of tenure was to ground truth the historical assay results with a portable XRF analyser and supporting rock chip assays. A site visit was made to the Lucy Creek 2 and Halfway Dam prospects during 25 September to 1 October 2022. Access to the site was made by 4WD vehicle from Alice Springs to Jervois Station via the Stuart and Plenty Highways and along station tracks. Access to the Lucy Creek 2 prospect necessitated a 5km walk from the end of the drivable road. The Halfway Dam prospect required a 1km walk from the drivable road. Rock chip and pXRF values were highly anomalous in Mn and Fe, but only slightly elevated REE values were determined in the pXRF results.
