| Abstract: | Exploration Licence EL 32291 is centered approximately 51km north of Tennant Creek, in the Tennant Creek Mineral Field. The licence overlaps the Tennant Creek pastoral station. The licence can be accessed from Tennant Creek south along the Stuart Highway then west and east on station tracks, with the majority of the work being undertaken on the eastern side of the Stuart Highway. The licence is held by Barkly Operations Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Middle Island Resources Limited. The target of exploration in the Barkly area is primarily Tennant Creek style mineralisation and IOCG deposits hosted within the Proterozoic basement. Extensive flat areas dominate the western licence area, largely covered by colluvium, scree, sheetwash and dune sand, sandy soil, alluvial deposits. The centre of the licence is dominated by arcuate hills of the Short Range. Exploration work completed on the surrendered blocks comprised aeromagnetic interpretation and prospect review Geological targets have been identified utilising the current NTGS interpretation in conjunction with aeromagnetics (Figure 7). Areas anomalous in fault density and /or with significantly disrupted stratigraphy and localised magnetic highs (that may reflect magnetite stage alteration) or gravity highs (reflecting magnetite, hematite or sulphide alteration) are considered areas of interest for blind IOCG style deposits. A total of 82 blocks were surrendered from this tenement |
