Mataranka Lime Project Group Annual Report GR152-10, MCN 674, MCN 685, MCN 2548, MCN 2549, MCN 2550, MCN 2551, MCN 2552, MCN 2574, ML 30212 and ML 30213, reporting period 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2018

Abstract

Northern Cement Ltd - Northern Cement Limited (hereinafter referred to as Northern Cement) operates a limestone quarry at Elsey Station, 30 kms from Mataranka Township. The quarry area comprises Mineral Claims (Northern) (MCN) 2548, 2549, 2550, 2551, 2552, 2574, 674 and 685. Mineral Leases (ML) 30212 and 30213 are located at Mataranka. MCN 674, 685, 2548 to 2552 and 2574, and Mineral Leases 30212, & 30213 are held for mining of limestone. No exploration work was conducted on the subject titles during the reporting period. All the tenements were purchased by Northern Cement Ltd from Blake Investments Pty Ltd in March 1990 to supply limestone for the quicklime kilns at Mataranka. ML 30212 & 30213 During the 2018 reporting year, no quarrying activities were conducted within these Mineral Leases. The tenements are located on the Mataranka Homestead Road near Mataranka Township. On 20 December 2013 the Department of Primary Industry and Resources converted Mineral Claims (Northern) 675, 684 and 2553 to ML 30212 and ML 30213 These tenements are held in reserve as future sources of limestone in the event of major flooding that frequently occurs between the Lime plant and the operational quarry site within Elsey Station. During the 2018 reporting year, quarrying activity was conducted on MCN 2551 only. With the exception of MCN 2574, the tenements are adjoining Mineral Claims are located on the Elsey Station access road, 30kms east of Mataranka. MCN 2574 is located approximately 2km to the east of the Elsey quarry site. Tenements not subject to extractive activity are held as future limestone reserves for the lime manufacturing operations at Mataranka.
