Abstract: | The Bynoe Project consists of EL 30897, approximately 38 km (as the crow flies) southwest of the city of Darwin in the Northern Territory. Lithium Australia NL (LIT) has 100% beneficial ownership of the tenement. LIT is targeting lithium firstly and secondly tin, tantalum and rare earth metals in pegmatites of the Bynoe field of the Leviathan Pegmatite Group. The Leviathan pegmatites lie predominantly within the Burrel Creek Formation, a pelitic sequence of marine sediments, and the pegmatites are zoned bodies with associated greiseniasation and kaolinisation. There is a history of tin mining in the area. An Authority Certificate from the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority (AAPA) was received on the 1st of June 2017. A soil sampling program was planned to be undertaken in the 2017-2018 reporting year, but unexpected and unplanned delays in the availability of the consultants chosen for this work led to the onset of the wet season before it could be carried out. This and staffing issues at LIT restricted the work being undertaken in this reporting year to further desk-top analysis of the geophysical data package compiled by Southern Geoscience consultants in the 2016-17 year. |
