Abstract: | This report covers exploration completed on the tenements in the Rover Combined Reporting group for the period 8 March 2017 to 7 March 2018. The Rover Project is located approximately 100km west-southwest of the Tennant Creek Township, and includes a number of granted tenements and one application that fall within aboriginal freehold lands of the Karlantijpa South Land Trust and Karlantijpa North Land Trust. The project area is considered prospective for copper and gold and base metals mineralisation associated with Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) mineralising systems. In November 2008, combined reporting status was granted over five tenements forming a contiguous group within the Rover Project. The reporting group now consists of EL 24541, EL 25511, EL 27039, ELR 29957 and ELR 29958. EL 27039 hosts two advanced IOCG mineralised systems: the Explorer 142 Cu-Au prospect and the Explorer 108 Pb-Zn-Ag resource. ELR 29957 / EL 29958 together host the Rover 1 copper-gold resource. These mineralised bodies are analogous to the Tennant Creek IOCG deposits and demonstrate the high prospectivity of the Rover Project region. Exploration on the Rover Project during the 2017-2018 reporting year consisted primarily of office studies. No field work was carried out. Ongoing review of the previous exploration results continued and this included an assessment of targets at the Curiosity Prospect in EL 27039, and a prospectivity review of EL 25511 and EL 24541. Preliminary work on remodelling the Rover 1 resource was begun, but was still in progress at the end of the reporting year. Planning for further rehabilitation work on drill holes within ELR 29957 was also undertaken. Future work planned over the combined Rover Project Reporting area includes: Completion of a resource update at the Rover 1 Deposit; Continued targeting at the Curiosity Prospect; Continuing Rover 1 development studies; and Geotechnical studies potentially including geotechnical drillholes covering the proposed decline footprint. |
