Title: | EL 32114 Aladdin Project Second Annual Report 8 November 2020 to 7 November 2021 |
Title Holder / Company: | Santonian Resources |
Report id: | CR2021-0529 |
Tenure: | EL32114 |
Year: | 2022 |
Abstract: | Mineral Exploration License (EL) 32214 was granted to Santonian Resources Ltd on 8th November 2019 for a term of 6 years. The Aladdin Project is located 40 km South East of the settlement of Top Springs and 240km South from Katherine. Historically the area has been suspected to have bornite mineralisation due to iridescent stains found within the laterite. Geochemical assays of rock chip samples recovered from south of EL 32214 has shown high anomalous Vanadium, Titanium, Iron and Aluminium content within the surficial mineralised laterite. Preliminary office studies has shown that the suspected mineralised laterite extends further North, hence the securing of EL 32114. Early onset and prolonged wet season during the first half of the reporting period, combined with COVID-19 border closures and restrictions for majority of the year, severely hampered field programs. Gravel samples were recovered in September/October 2021 with anomalous Vanadium present. The presence of the anomalous Vanadium suggest that similar grades of Vanadium continues further North of Santonian Resources existing tenure. Further sampling and geological field trips are required for the third operating year to recover rock chip samples similar confirm this theory. |
