Abstract

During 16 August, 2016 and 15 August, 2017, Kirkland Lake Gold began a small diamond drill program on MLN 1109, consisting of two parent holes and a wedges off both. The purpose of the drilling was set to target the intersection between the Prospect and Crosscourse Deposit. The diamond drilling, which was conducted on MLN 1109 during the reporting period, illustrated the need for further testing up and down the plunge of the projected Crosscourse mineralisation. Further drilling has been proposed for the Union Reefs project area, focusing on the Prospect, Varna, Great Uncle Bulgaria and Elizabeth South mineral deposits. This drilling shall be based around the identified soil geochemical and geophysical anomalies, which are located along the same structural corridor that the Crosscourse open pit falls upon. Minor exploration drilling has been conducted over the three target areas, which have highlighted the gold-in-soil anomalies. A 63 hole RC program has been proposed for the project area, totalling 10,820m. It is expected that from the 63 RC holes, 12 shall be drilled at Elizabeth South for a total of 1,900m (Figure 11-1). A total of 9 holes are planned to be drilled at Varna, totalling 1,455m, with 20 holes drilled at Great Uncle Bulgaria for 3,145m (Figure 11-2). It is also planned that a total of 22 diamond holes (for 5,790m) shall be drilled at Prospect, five of which shall be wedges off a parent diamond hole. A further 22 RC holes are also planned for the Prospect area, totalling 4,420m.
