Abstract: Mineral Lease (ML) 29961 forms part of the Yam Creek Project area and is located approximately 140 km southeast of Darwin, along the Stuart Highway. The lease was jointly issued to Newmarket Gold Inc. (20%) and Thierry Delongvert (80%) for a five year period, following the conversion of Mineral Lease Northern (MLN) 4723. In November of 2016, Newmarket Gold Inc. and Canadian gold company Kirkland Lake Gold underwent a merger of their Northern Territory titles, which now fall under the Kirkland Lake Gold flagship. The Yam Creek Project area is historically known for being one of the first areas in the Northern Territory to contain gold, with the discovery being made in 1870, during the construction of the Overland Telegraph Line. The tenement consists of the stratigraphy of both the Mount Bonnie Formation and the Gerowie Tuff. Gold mineralisation is commonly found within the ironstone and fine grained carbonaceous to tuffaceous sedimentary units from the Mount Bonnie Formation. The lease is situated on the Yam Creek Anticline, with gold deposits being situated along this anticline. No work was completed on the lease during the reporting period.
