Abstract

Activities undertaken in the 2015/16 reporting year consisted of laboratory testwork to establish the cyanide recovery at P80 passing 75 micrometre. This was done in NAL in Pine Creek where a hot cyanide leach was undertaken. This was essentially an agitated cyanide leach at elevated temperatures in the presence of a strong oxidiser. This essentially compressed the time scale and gave comparable recoveries to a standard CIP process. Results from this test work indicated a 100% recovery was possible with the use of cyanide at a standard ball mill grind. Field work consisted of the mining of the remaining bulk sample and the backfilling of the pit. A total of 1100t of ore was mined from the 2016 pit in August 2016.
