Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the source rock potential, including thermal maturity for, (1) the Ordovician and Devonian drilled section within the Canning Basin, Western Australia, and (2) the Upper Cambrian to Upper Ordovician drilled section within the Amadeus Basin, Northern Territory.
'Random', reflectance analyses were carried out on a suite of samples from the petroleum wells; Blina-1, Goldwyer-1, McLarty-1, Santalum-1A, Solanum-1 and Willara-1 in the Canning Basin, and from East Mereenie-1, Mount Winter-2A and Tent Hill-1 in the Amadeus Basin.
