Abstract: | The Gardiner-Tanami project incorporates tenements EL 23932, EL 25009, EL 26498, EL 26541, EL 27367, EL 29592, EL 29593, and EL 29595 which are located in the Granites-Tanami region of the Northern Territory. Northern Minerals is the current holder and operator of this group of tenements. Northern Minerals is exploring the project as part of a wider exploration program covering contiguous tenements along the Western Australia and Northern Territory border for which the targeted commodity is heavy rare earths associated with the mineral xenotime. During the reporting period, exploration work was limited to processing data from an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey flown by UTS Geophysics in 2014, acquisition of Spot 6 satellite imagery and a regional targeting exercise. Advice was also received from the Central Land Council for a heritage survey held in August 2014, which has effectively excluded large areas from on-ground exploration. There was no on ground exploration undertaken during the report period. |
