Year: 2015
Author: Nesbitt, C
Abstract: ML 29961 is part of a large group of ML, MLN and MCN leases that make up Newmarket Gold's Yam Creek Project. ML 29961 is held in partnership between Peter Twine (80%) and Newmarket Gold NT Holdings Pty Ltd 20%. ML 29961 incorporates the stratigraphy of the Mount Bonnie Formation and the Gerowie Tuff, Pine Creek Geosyncline, where gold mineralisation within the region is hosted by the ironstone and finegrained carbonaceous to tuffaceous sedimentary units of the Mount Bonnie Formation. Regional north to north-northeast folds have concentrated mineralisation within anticlinal folds. The Yam Creek group of leases is located on the Yam Creek Anticline. Gold deposits are situated along this anticline and mining activities within the region have occurred on and off since the mid 1800's. There were no exploration or mining activities conducted during the reporting period, 11/06/2014 to 10/06/2015 due to the company going through an asset re-evaluation process as a result of the merger between Crocodile Gold and Newmarket Gold. As a result of the asset re-evaluation, Newmarket Gold has identified ML 29961 and the adjacent Yam Creek leases as integral to their growth strategy within the Pine Creek area and looks forward to actively exploring the tenement.
