Abstract: The Brunchilly Phosphate Project consists of three contiguous exploration licences, EL 30222, EL 30223 and EL 30224, 90 km northeast of Tennant Creek at the nearest point and 235 km northeast of Tennant Creek at the northeastern-most corner. The project is targeting sedimentary Cambrian rock phosphate in the Georgina Basin. Rum Jungle Resources undertook an AAPA Register search which resulted in the partial relinquishment of 35 sub-blocks from the project. The area has previously been targeted for Cambrian phosphate, in separate but coeval projects, by Minemakers and Vale. Minemakers and a Minemakers-Geotech JV mapped out a 35 km long by 10 km wide northwest-trending Cambrian embayment. The joint venture partners planned to drill but the joint venture was dissolved in early 2013 as Minemakers focused on its Wonarah deposit. This target zone is in the northern part of the Brunchilly Project and remains untested. Vale previously held seven contiguous ELs which included the southern part of the Brunchilly Phosphate Project. Vale commissioned a waterbore study by CSIRO. Of the 12 waterbores within the Brunchilly Project area tested during that study, three were rated as highly prospective and five as moderately prospective. Vale drilled 24 holes, only a few of which were in the southeast of the Brunchilly Project area. Rum Jungle Resources undertook an assessment of the previous drilling by Vale and an in-house waterbore study of 42 bores with emphasis on whether any phosphate would be above the watertable. It was decided that the southeastern portion of the Brunchilly Project area has been adequately tested for phosphate. Voluntary partial relinquishments were made to EL 30224 and EL 30223. Some of the relinquished blocks are also swampy and subject to flooding. Collectively within the first year, the voluntary partial relinquishments reduced the Brunchilly Project from 2,439 km2 to 1,993.93 km2. Only minimal desktop studies were undertaken in Year 2 because Rum Jungle Resources was focussed on more advanced phosphate projects elsewhere in the NT. The original ca 50 hole reconnaissance drilling program may be undertaken in 2017, permissions and funds permitting.
