Abstract: | The tenements comprising the Central Tanami Project (CTP) were acquired by Tanami (NT) Pty Ltd (TNT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL, from Otter Gold NL, (Otter), a wholly owned subsidiary of Newmont Asia Pacific on 30 March 2010. The CTP is located approximately 659km northwest of Alice Springs (Figure 1). TNT is exploring the project tenements for gold. Exploration during 2014 consisted of geological reconnisance, pit wall mapping, XRF analysis in addit ionl to 11 RC holes drilled at Beaver prospect (MLS 180) and 11 Aircore holes drilled at Jims Find South East prospect (MLS 168 and EL 26926). The drill target on MLS 168 was situated directly to the southeast of Jims Pit. Significant drilling has been conducted in the area by previous explorers although a corridor of poorly drilled ground was identified southeast of the pit with a parallel strike to that of the lodes within the south eastern corner of the Jims open pits. In Addition to this surface reconnisance identified several auriferous quartz veins within the target area. An extensived aircore program was conducted in October 2014 testing this Jims southeast target. Mineralisaiton was confirmed with the nature of gold mineralisation limited to the narrow discontinuous quartz veins. No further work is recommended for this target. The Beaver drilling program aimed to test a possible extension NE-SW trending ore structure in the eastern wall of the pit. This structure was first identified in a pre-collar of a hole drilled in 2012. The 2014 drilling confirmed the presence of a mineralised shoot and indicated that it appears to plunge moderately to the north northwest back towards the existing open pit. Further mapping and field checking of the Beaver Pit, and re-logging of drill chips from relevant holes are recommended in an attempt to correlate lithology, alteration and structural zones to ascertain controls on mineralisation and confirm potential strike or plunge extensions. |
