Abstract: | During the reporting period there has been extensive review and compilation of the previous geological, geochemical and geophysical exploration data. During this due diligence analysis deficiencies were identified in the geochemistry database which was subsequently rebuilt using raw lab report data. Basic field reconnaissance has been conducted. 36 portable X-ray Fluorescence (pXRF) readings have been collected at key prospective areas utilising a hand-held Olympus InnovX instrument model DP-4050-C in soil mode. The areas selected include the Heatley s Pb prospect and an area in the SE identified as a potential late channel VTEM anomaly. The readings were taken in-situ and therefore saved significant time and cost traditionally incurred by the handling and laboratory analysis. In addition, the results were available instantly, which is of great value in guiding potential sites for chip sampling and focussing on specific local mineralisation controls. The highest pXRF Pb values are from Koopin Formation at Heatley where three samples exceed 1,000 ppm and up to 2,951 ppm. These samples have the highest As values for the tenement (to 352 ppm). One sample is above detection in Au and three are above detection in Ag but these are not considered to be significant. The soil sampling at Heatley shows the anomalous area to be constrained to approximately 120 x 50 m which is likely too small to be of significance. For the tenement there are no anomalous U or Cu results. The target area identified from VTEM in the SE is interpreted to relate to a small Koolpin fold rather than due to base metals. At the time of writing some rock chip samples were being collected and assessed by a laboratory. |
