Abstract: | Northern Minerals completed two phases of exploration across the project area during the reporting period. The 1st phase was to follow up and evaluate previous occurrences of xenotime mineralisation identified by past explorers via mapping and sampling resulting in the identification of cockade textured quartz veins with Yttrium XRF values of up to 300,000ppm. The second phase of exploration involved collecting detailed magnetic and radiometric data via a fixed wing aircraft to define radiometric anomalies and beneficial structural corridors for fluid development. In conjunction with the Tanami-Gardner project a total of 6836 line kilometres of survey lines were flown. A detailed interpretation of the results obtained from the magnetic and radiometric survey including on-ground exploration activities has identified the project area as hosting potentially economic occurrences of xenotime mineralisation. Infill XRF grid surveys are warranted across known anomalies to fully define their extent and to identify other occurrences. |
