Annual Report for period ending 4 December 2013 Lethbridge Bay West

Abstract

This annual report covers ML 24511 (local area Lethbridge Bay West) located on the north coast of Melville Island in the Northern Territory. During the reporting period no mineral sand exploration work was completed on the ML because it is considered to be exhausted following the completion of mining in October 2010. No further exploration is required to define mineralised zones. This report summarises the location, title history, access to the area, physiography and geology. Work in the ML during the period 5 December 2012 to 4 December 2013 was focussed on rehabilitation and primarily consisted of weed control and an infill native tree planting program. During the year the planting was inspected by the Milikapiti Nursery people and they reported the seedlings were established. Water and land environmental audits by the company's environmental consultants are contained in appendices 1-4. Discontinuance of the water sampling program is recommended based on the conclusion mining has not impacted water quality in the area. An area of dieback was examined and though the cause of dieback could not be ascertained the premise that dieback was caused by waterlogging of the soil is accepted for the dieback area.
