Annual Report EL 30090 SXB Project NT 28 January 2016 to 27 January 2017

Abstract

EL 30090, part of the SXB Project, located about 75kms northeast of Alice Springs lies west of EL 28045 which hosts the main area of historic small scale mining associated with a north trending zone of intense tectonism of the Wollanga Lineament. Local geology is dominated a pelite-psammite-acid volcanic sequence assigned to the 1810 - 1800Ma Cadney metamorphics, Aileron Province, Strangways Metamorphic Complex, southeast Arunta Inlier. During the past year limited office and field-work was done on EL 30090. During the year Davenport Resources previously a wholly owned subsidiary of ASX listed Arunta Resources Ltd, became independent unlisted public company following an in-specie distribution of shares to Arunta shareholders. The company completed an Initial Public Offering and listed on the ASX on 20 January 2017. Desktop review of past exploration indicates several campaigns of stream sampling with limited follow-up. However, as the exploration model was not focussed on IOCG it is Davenport's view that further detailed work is warranted. A high level review of past work indicates observation of prolific magnetite and garnet associated with relatively low level base metal anomalies. These indicators can be associated with IOGC deposits and are deemed worthy of additional exploration. Recommendations for exploration on the EL 30090 section of the SXB Project include a lithostructural interpretation based on existing magnetic information, mapping and rock chip or soil sampling of areas deemed of interest. A more extensive detailed aeromagnetic survey with VTEM is planned. Follow up ground checking of priority anomalies ahead of any potential drilling.
