Abstract: During the 2016 / 2017 reporting period Marindi applied for and was successful in a grant under the Innovation Connections Program (Grant number RC52367). In collaboration with the CSIRO Marindi utilised a combination of geophysical [airborne electromagnetics (VTEM), ground borne gravity, hyperspectral] and geochemical techniques. Using this approach CSIRO were able to build an interactive 3D model of the subsurface geology with additional geochemical and petrographic observations to better identify targets for potentially prospective Barney Creek Formation lithologies. Marindi then contacted the Geodiscovery Group from Brisbane to review and rate target areas for follow up drilling. Drill core from the Darwin core library was reviewed and target areas ground truthed. Marindi are reviewing options regarding further work in the 2018 field season.
