2013 MCSAN13 McArthur Seismic Survey - Interpretation Report

Abstract

The primary purpose of the interpretation of the MCSAN13 McArthur River 2D Seismic Survey was to map a number of key seismic horizons to assist with delineating the lateral extent of the Roper Group. The Roper Group has been identified as a prospective unconventional shale gas target within the Beetaloo Basin as indicated by the result of Shenandoah 1A. The interpretation of the seismic survey was conducted by the in-house Santos Geophysicists utilising Paradigm Software. The results of the seismic data has confirmed the postulated thick sedimentary sequence based on the potential field data. Following seismic interpretation, confirmation of laterally continuous Roper Group sediments across the OT Downs Sub-basin is positive for the potential prospectivity of the Velkerri Formation as an unconventional shale gas target within EP161.
