Abstract: | Previous data compilation and geophysical data acquired by Genesis Resources Ltd highlighted the potential of the Alice Springs project to contain copper, iron, gold and base metal mineralisation. Geophysical and geochemical priority anomalies were assessed in the field during previous years through geological observation and rock chip and soil sampling. As a result of this work a semi-regional grid partial leach soil sampling program was planned and carried out in 2011. The awaited assay results were received during this reporting period. Analyses of the regional soil sampling results provided encouraging zones of multi-element anomalies of economic interest including Cu, Au, Ag, Co, U and Zn. The results highlighted the potential of the area and justify further infill sampling. Each of the anomalous zones identified represent an opportunity for the discovery of copper-gold mineralisation. |
