Abstract: Discovery of probably commercial hydrocarbons from Late Proterozoic to Early Cambrian clastics in Dingo No. 1 and an oil column tight Late Proterozoic sandstones of the Bitter Springs Formation in Mt. Winter No. 1 instigated the reappraisal of potential source rocks in the Precambrian sequence of the Amadeus Basin.
