Title: | Geological Review of the Simpson Desert sub-basin |
Title Holder / Company: | Beach Petroleum |
Report id: | PR1971-0005 |
Tenure: | OP57 |
Year: | 1971 |
Abstract: | Potential source beds, reservoir rocks and cap rocks, ranging in age from Late Proterozoic to Mesozoic are sufficient to make the Simpson Desert region a potential petroleum province. Permian draped over anticlinal highs are the most prospective. This report reviews the geology and petroleum potential in the region of OP57. The region under consideration spans the margin of the sedimentary basins, the Amadeus Basin and the Great Artesian Basin |
