Title: Reconnaissance geology, Gulf of Carpentaria: A Process Report
Title Holder / Company: Frome-Broken Hill Company
Report id: PR1956-0001
Tenure: OP4
Year: 1956
Abstract: Palaeozoic sediments are known to occur on the margins of the Carpentaria Basin. They folded and intruded by igneous rocks along the tectonic belts and are essentially undisturbed elsewhere. A thick sequence of sediments belonging to Calvert Hills Group on the southwest and west margin of the basin may include petroleum source beds. In places they are folded and faulted, but appear to be nearly flat lying in less disturbed areas.
