Abstract: The Johnny's Creek Beds have been recognised in Mt. Winter No. 1, East Johnny's Creek No. 1 and tentatively in Ochre Hill No. 1 on lithological similarities and wireline log characteristics. The johnny's Creek Beds appear to be a consistently petroliferous sequence, with oil shows in in Mt. Winter No. 1, asphaltic sandstone and fluorescence in East Johnny's Creek No. 1, fluorescence in Ochre Hill No. 1 and cuttings gas in Erldunda No. 1. The correlative section at Ooraminna No. 1 underlies the gas bearing 'Areyonga Formation'.
