| Abstract: | This is a report of a study undertaken by Magellan, as part of their work programme for year 2 in EP15 on the possibility of a Carbonate Buildup at the basal part of the Mt Eclipse Sandstone, and the underlying strata within the Vaughan Springs Syncline. Conclusions are: High probability that the postulated Carbonate Buildup doesn't exist in the Vaughan Springs Syncline. ; Outcrop data from the Vaughan Springs Syncline, and geochronologic data from Mt Doreen No. 8B suggest that the postulated Carbonate Buildup is more areally restricted than previously thought. |
