Abstract: | A program of regional reconnaissance inconjunction with acquiring available located, digital geophysical data was implemented during first year of tenure. The licence area is underlain by magnetically interpreted Kanandra Granulite assigned to Strangways Metamorphic Complex (1810 - 1770Ma) prospective for IOCG/VHMS basemetal deposits e.g. Johnnies Cu - Au, Utnalanama Zn - Cu - Au deposits 80km to southwest. The licence area is wedged between two major east to east south east trending fault zones namely Delny - Mt Sainthill (north) and Entire Point Fault Zone (south). The metamorphosed to granulite facies mainly basic volcanic body is fragmented by a series of relatively close spaced northwest trending faults upgrading its regionally perceived IOCG prospectivity. About 90% of licence area is overlain by either Quaternary alluvial deposits and/or Tertiary Waite Formation containing coal measure (occurring vertical depth of 100m in southeast corner). A heliborne time domain electromagnetic survey was flown over entire licence area along N-S flight lines, 500m apart in 2007. It is recommended above SKYTEM Data be acquired, modelled, image processed, interpreted seeking subsurface basement conductors possibly indicative of potential IOCG massive sulfide deposits? The potential of Tertiary cover sequence has not been fully assessed for palaeochannel hosted uranium mineralisation. |
