Abstract: EL 28043 was granted to Antony Zebisch on the 29/10/2011. Within the exploration lease area lies MC 27986. This MC is known to have gold mineralisation. EL 28043 was applied for so as to further explore the potential of that mineralisation along strike. To the NNW of EL 28043 on an inferred trend to gold mineralisation lay the historic gold workings of Mistake Reef and Karfees Reef. To the SSE of EL 28043 lay substantial exploration and mining activities including Mt Tymn, Bridge Creek and Howley's Ridge. Initial exploration involved several field trips to assess the area and to determine the best course of initial exploration. The gold mineralisation within MC 27986 has a high iron content and is thin in nature and as a result a ground magnetics survey over the most accessible and promising areas of the EL was undertaken, totalling 20km of lines with line spacing varying between 25-200m. EL 28043 is underlain by sediments of the Burrell Creek Formation. Quaternary cover is extensive and outcrop poor. The succession is primary composed of a greywacke siltstone sequence, with subordinate mudstone and quartzite. In areas of good outcrop the structure is complex with extensive folding on a NNW-SSE axis. Mineralisation present is probably structurally controlled within faulting and anticlinal folding.
