Abstract: Field work was undertaken in 2011 during the period of June to September. The search for phosphates concentrated on two exploration techniques. These included auger sampling of the B soil horizon and chip sampling available rock outcrops. Access to many areas was restricted due to rough bushland, but station tracks were used to examine a good representation of geology in the area. The licence was investigated in conjunction with the adjacent EL 26978. Soil sampling occurred along available access routes that included the Lajamanu Road and internal Wave Hill Station fence lines. Approximately 87 line kilometres of soil sampling was done on 250m sample spacings as indicated on the maps below. On this licence we collected 361 soil samples and 1 rock chip sample. These samples were analysed at AMDEL laboratories in Darwin. To date the soil results remain uncalibrated and it is planned to do this in Year 3 by drilling. Within the licence only one outcrop of Montejinni limestone was found during the year and this was located at the south eastern corner of the EL. Although the limestone underlies the eastern portion of the licence it does not outcrop.
