Abstract: | EL 27709 lies about 80 km north-east of Alice Springs, and abuts the Arltunga Historical Reserve. The tenement was applied for, namely to test and explore some small airborne uranium anomalies on the Hale plain, north of Ambalindum. Spot checks with a portable scintillometer failed to find any significant or anomalous uranium. Field visits and sampling were also conducted at the historic Pattersons Au prospect in the Cavenagh Ranges and a conceptual target nicknamed Mordor East on the western edge of EL 27709. Future work planned for the second year will involve mapping and further sampling/trenching at Pattersons, cleaning out old access tracks to enable vehicle access, inspection and soil sampling over some Th anomalies east of Ulgnamba Bore. Should any of this work confirm a viable drill target, and then a small RB or RC drill program will be considered. |
