Abstract: | Mineral Exploration Licence EL 30708 was granted on the 3 September 2015 to Zero Group Minerals Pty Ltd and surrendered on the 2 September 2018 where 50% partial relinquishment was made at the end of year two. Near the Montejinni homestead quartz, cuprite, malachite veins occur within the Antrim Plateau Volcanics and large specimens of native copper have been found. A desktop review by Zero Group Minerals combined all available open file data, inclusive of stream sediment samples, historical reporting and NT DMP geophysics and mapping. The collated historic data defined a north west trend, suspected to be a structurally controlled 20-kilometrelong geochemical copper (Cu) anomaly. The Cu Anomaly appears to transect both the Antrim Plateau Volcanics (APV) and the Montejinni Limestone (ML) lithological contacts and it has been on this basis of this geological/mineralisation model that exploration has been conducted by Zero Group Minerals Pty Ltd. The field reconnaissance work comprised of rock chip sampling and geochemical assays. Whilst compelling evidence exists for a primary source of the secondary copper mineralisation observed and sampled at the lithological boundary between the ML and APV, there has been no further indication of the locality of such a primary source from the work conducted to date. Because the primary source remains enigmatic, an executive decision has been made to discontinue further time and resources that would have otherwise been devoted to continued exploration activities on the tenement. |
