Abstract: | EL 26555 is located northwest of Borroloola and centred about 500 km southeast of Darwin in the 'Gulf Country' of the Northern Territory, Australia. A partial relinquishment of 88 blocks of the tenement area was submitted to DPIR on 22 August 2018. The Northern Territory Government declared Limmen National Park and Limmen Bight Marine Park at a ceremony at Nathan River Station on 17 July 2012. The National Park impacts on tenements of the Borroloola Project, including EL 26555. As such, the park area overlays approximately two-thirds of EL 26555, but excludes the south-western part over the Hells Gate Project. Exploration conducted over the reporting period has highlighted the anomalous levels of manganese in the Borroloola project overall but has not identified a significant target on the relinquished portion of EL 26555. Due to this fact and that the Limmen National Park being formalised in 2012, the blocks covering the National Park were chosen to be relinquished. |
