Abstract: | In October 2009 a 140 kilogram rock chip sample was collected at random from the McKinley Mine stockpile for testing by Gekko Systems of Ballarat. Rocks were broken by hammer to a maximum size of approximately 1 kilogram. Rocks were then packed into 6 steel tubs to weigh approximately 22 kilograms each. In short, Gekko reported, that the ore was highly amenable to crushing by Vertical Shaft Impactor and that approximately 69% of the gold could be recovered into a mass of 12% by gravity and flotation. Gold particles are very small with the majority < 100 microns with at least 50% < 50 microns. |
