| Abstract: | A sample of unnamed biotite gneiss was collected from drill core KRDD1281 (provided by Cameco Australia Ltd) for the purposes of LA–ICP–MS U–Pb zircon dating. Zircon from this sample yields a magmatic crystallisation age of 2495 ± 4 Ma; this age is interpreted as the timing of emplaced of the igneous protolith of the biotite gneiss. It is markedly younger than that of the proximal ca 2640 Ma Arrarra Gneiss or the ca 2524–2510 Ma Kukalak Gneiss. |
