Abstract: | Follow up ground gravity was carried out on anomalies 7, 10A and 10B located in the western part of the project. These anomalies are located at shallow depth and interpreted to have no or thin cover of Cambrian sediments. These magnetic anomalies are regarded as exploratory nature. It is recommended to drill-test them to gain a better understanding of their causative source and their relationship to the local geology. Anomaly 7 is a priority target which should be drill-tested first to obtain direct information on its nature and mineralisation potential. Geological data recovered from the drilling will provide better constrains for geophysical modelling of other anomalies in the project area. By establishing that these anomalies represent gold-copper hosting ironstone bodies, it is anticipated that it will open up remaining parts of the Davenport Province for future exploration and resource development. |
