Abstract: | EL 25436 is held by Spundaily Pty Ltd and abuts the southern end of the historical Mavis Tin Mine. Access in year one was impeded by flooded creeks and washed out crossings. Rock chip sampling was undertaken - the best lab assays were 0.01 and 0.024 ppm gold. Further samples were hand crushed, dollied and panned with similar results. The previous leaseholder reputedly found 6 gm - 8 gm gold nuggets using metal detectors. Spundaily did indeed locate more but in the 1 gm to 3 gm range at the same location. Old alluvial workings and the remains of an old building were found. Verbal advice suggested that alluvials had been worked in that area for tin and fine gold. Pits were dug along the creek and the alluvium was panned. Only minor traces of gold were found. A geologist recommended that work concentrate in the fold immediately abutting the Mavis Tin Mine. Spundaily has pegged and applied for a Mineral Claim over this area. |
