Abstract: | During the 2013-14 period a project review was undertaken. Open file data from Royal Resources (ROY) who explored the adjacent tenement, became available and was incorporated into EME's Ngalia Regional Micromine project. ROY located the contact between the Mount Eclipse Sandstone (ECL) and the Vaughan Springs Quartzite (VSQ) which has been interpreted as a fault contact known as the Waite Creek Thrust Zone (WCTZ). However, ROY did not find evidence for a fault contact and the ECL unit intercepted was described as Unit A (the youngest, oxidised unit of the ECL). If this interpretation is accurate then the northern margin of tenement EL 24804 is located too far south to be prospective for Bigrlyi style uranium. The prospective Unit C of the ECL which hosts mineralisation elsewhere in the region may be faulted out by the WCTZ or located further to the north outside EL 24804. It is recommended that drill chips and lithological logging data from EME's 2009 program be reviewed to determine the characteristics of the calcrete encountered and whether the sandstones identified in the bottom of the holes are ECL or some other unit. Reconnaissance of ECL outcrop in the northwest corner of EL 24804 is recommended to determine whether the prospective units for Bigrlyi style mineralisation fall within tenement. |
