Abstract: | The area was applied for to test the potential for tungsten and molybdenum, but the area is also prospective for gold, copper base metals and uranium. Work carried out consisted of a review of historic data and reports A field reconnaissance trip was carried out in 10 March 2007, with accessibility being too difficult due to wet conditions and work had to be aborted. A second field reconnaissance trip was carried out in Mid April 2007. It was found that whilst much of the EL contained open soil covered country with little outcrop, a lot of the ground was difficult to access due to the hilly nature of the rest of the area. Based on this reconnaissance, it has been decided that the first part of the next years work will be to do aerial reconnaissance using a helicopter, this will include sampling. All reconnaissance traverses by foot or vehicle included the continuous use of a Scintrex Scintillometer. No elevated radioactivity was encountered. Four samples were taken with results pending. |
