Title: Bridging report MLC 520 Great Northern 2
Title Holder / Company: Schmidt, J
Report id: CR2007-0530
Tenure: MLC520
Year: 2007
Author: Schmidt, J
Abstract: MLC 520 and its predecessors (including GML 390E) have been in existence at least since 1953. This lease is in the gold-mineralised area at Tennant Creek. There was uncertainty in the past as to whether MLC 520 covered the Great Northern Workings that include old shafts and open cuts. Some recent maps show the workings as being either southeast of MLC 520 or in the southeast of the title. Joe Schmidt has held the lease since 1981. In 1992, Asarco came on the scene and amid confusion about the locations of MCC 241 and MLC 520, promised sampling of old workings, detailed structural mapping, ground mag surveys and drilling if required. It is unclear as to how the location problem was resolved and what, if any, work was undertaken. There has been no work on this title during the entire period 2000 to 2006. The leaseholder is planning to sell the title to Emmerson Resources as he is unable to work the lease himself.
