Namarrkon Project EL 23700 Annual Report 2005, 3 June 2005 to 2 June 2006

Abstract

The Namarrkon Project consists of EL 23700 with a total area of 100.6 km2 and is located in West Arnhem Land, about 250 km east of Darwin. The EL was granted to Cameco Australia Pty Ltd (Cameco) on 3 June 2005 for the period of six years. The 2005 exploration program included: compilation and review of existing data, follow-up and outcrop sampling (n=36) of radiometric anomalies, geological reconnaissance, reconnaissance and assessment of previous explorer AFmeco Mining and EXploration Pty Ltd (AFMEX) proposed drill targets, and reprocessing and interpretation of AFMEX TEMPEST data. Field work was focused on the southern part of EL 23700, however some reconnaissance was also conducted in the northeast corner of the tenement along Steven's Fault.
