SEL 9779 Mt Lynott McArthur River Region NT Bauhinia Downs SD53-03 Annual report on exploration activities for year seven of tenure 10 September 2005 to 9 September 2006

Abstract

Exploration during the 2005-2006 reporting period commenced in late 2005 with a substantial ground gravity survey carried out in the north valley area (north of ABN021). A concurrent EM34 survey was carried out over the ABN021 kimberlite and the north valley area covered by the ground gravity survey. Initial targets identified from these programs were loam sampled and a comprehensive soil geochemistry campaign was carried out over the ABN022 area. Continued exploration of these targets, a planned tenement wide HoistEM survey and commencement of a bulk sample of the ABN021 was severely hampered by unseasonably late rainfall caused by the passage of cyclone Monica in April 2006. Nonetheless these programs commenced late in the season and were completed in October and November 2006. Two hundred and twenty tonnes of kimberlite was excavated from 5 pits on the ABN021 kimberlite and delivered to the Merlin Mine for processing. An 80 metre line spaced HoistEM survey covering the entire tenement was completed with a number of new targets identified.
